When camouflage turns classy

Day 6: Camouflage at its bestDay 6.  This is one of my favorite ways to wear my hair.  It looks classy, professional, and I don’t have to apply any heat to it.  This is definitely my ‘go-to’ hair style.  In a word, this style is the ultimate camouflage.  See those cute little gold flowers?  Adding any type of decorative element like this makes it look like you were purposeful with your hair (which we both know is not the case).

And see all those little hairs poking this way and that?  I don’t care about those.  Without them I look like a school-marm, with them I look casually elegant.  It’s my version of a messy bun which I know teenagers can pull off but I can’t.

Disclaimer:  Sometimes I actually have to work for this look because the bun is to-to messy or to-to perfect.  And we wouldn’t want that, would we?

Total time from shower to shoes: 25 minutes (includes rifling through my daughter’s hair stuff to steal her cute bobby pins)

Hair Care Girl’s Tip #3

Today’s hair care tip involves (lower your voice and say it quietly within your mind) … “grease”.

“WHAT???!”…. Gross!

Now let’s be mature.  Grease is for kids.  This Hair Care Girl prefers the term “natural oils”.

As a committed Hair Care Girl it is important to “own your natural oils”.  That’s right.  All this time you’ve been avoiding nature’s bounty.  But Hair Care Girl knows better and I hope you do too.

Here’s the tip.

Tip #3: When your hair starts getting a little *ahem* oily, start running your fingers through it.
Spread that stuff allllllll the way out from the roots to the ends.  I like to do it when I watch TV, before bed, and when I get up in the morning.  It’s natural, it’ll make your hair more beautiful than you thought possible.  And it’s FREE!
