Day 17: It’s the dog’s fault

You’re probably thinking 17 days?  Are you kidding me?  Nope, I’m not kidding.  Today is day 17 (3 days past my usual breaking point) and I’m still going strong.

Several days ago I was coming up on Day 14 and getting pretty itchy desperate.  In fact I was thinking that I wouldn’t even make it the full 14 days because I felt so gross and my hair never really looked that good this time through so maybe I should just throw in the towel and wash it, but what kind of example would I be setting, and who has the time anyway?  (Don’t we all think in run-ons?).

But I didn’t throw in the towel because I’m a procrastinator.  When you’re a procrastinator you do things like dink around on your computer, wash the dishes, read a book, drink coffee, check Facebook, play a card game, think about what you’re going to wear, et cetera…all instead of washing your hair.

But usually by the end of a cycle nothing trumps washing my hair.

But this time Day 15 (which turns into Day 1 once I’ve shampooed) got a little busy so I had to skip my planned hair washing.  Then day 16 wasn’t an exercising day and Hair Care Girl only washes her hair on exercising days.  So I committed that today, Day 17, would be my hair washing day.

My dog is so cute! But my dog looked at me with her sweet loving eyes.  And then she cocked her head to one side, twitched her ear, and looked at the door.  And then she blinked. Expectantly.

So this Hair Care Girl did what any pet loving, cute dog owner would do.  I walked the dog instead of washing my hair.

And guess what?  My hair looks better than it’s looked in days! (17 to be exact).

Total time from shower to shoes: 40 minutes
Total time saved: 20 minutes (spent walking the dog)
